Ignaz Koegler Research Summer Camp
The scholarship promotes universities and research institutes in Ingolstadt, who wants to plan and implement high-quality summer camps for excellent young scientists in Ingolstadt or the surrounding area. Under the patronage of an established scientist from Ingolstadt and in exchange with other scientific experts, from Ingolstadt or external, young talents develop ideas and research projects in groups on a given guiding theme. The main theme should be at the interface of disciplines. It is required that the results will be presented to the city in a suitable setting. The participants receive a certificate that recognizes them as scholarship holders.
Grant
The grant amounts max. € 24,000 for the Ignaz Koegler Research Summer Camp. These can be used for allowance in kind (free participation incl. accommodation, meals, accompanying program, travel expenses if necessary). Funding is provided to conduct a summer camp of around one week for min. 12 student participants.
Requirements
- Relevance of the topics in the sense of the line of funding
a) Interdisciplinarity
b) Potential of the topics for new research ideas
c) Added value for excellent academic qualification of the participants - Attractiveness of the program design
- Development of the concept for public relations
Application and selection process
Applications can be submitted until October 15, 2024. Applications can be sent online to the Science Foundation of Excellence Ignaz Koegler by the hosting Ingolstadt institution. The application must contain all necessary documents in German or English:
- Cover letter
- Summer camp description (see template)
- Financing plan (third-party funding / sponsors)
- Brief CV of the lecturers (max. 1 page per lecturer)
The Science Council (Wissenschaftsrat) decides on applications for project funding based on a preliminary evaluation by the Science Foundation of Excellence Ignaz Koegler. Please refer to the FAQ for further details.
